Despite playing at the highest level in the world and being a head coach in the top college league, Dean Talafous did not feel he was qualified as an expert in skill development until spending over 5 years on the Total Hockey Training floor working with thousands of hockey players from beginners to pros. “Many coaches, players and parents do not understand the value of a structured training program that provides the necessary number of repetitions done with proper form, motivation and instruction to affect a player’s ability to begin performing a skill correctly and naturally,” said Dean Talafous. “Physiologist state that it takes two thousand repetitions to begin changing a player’s form…this does not happen by only practicing on the ice and playing games.”

Total Hockey is not focused on improving a player’s bench press or vertical jump. Total Hockey will improve a player’s hockey vision, puck skills and first-step skating quickness. Players participate in challenging progressive drills that force them to simultaneously move their feet while handling a puck and working on their vision skills. Players can access this website from any computer with Internet access, allowing athletes to track their progress and compare their performance to other players of the same age.
